"My designs combine fashion and art for a look that is unique. As an artist it is my goal to provide personal adornments of the utmost quality, workmanship and design".

As far back as I can remember, I have always been fascinated with vintage jewelry. Growing up, I would spend time with my grandmother rummaging through her jewelry chest and collecting all the odds and ends. My grandmother would tell me stories of her collection and pass down many of her pieces to me. It was then that I realized the sentimental attachment we have to jewelry and the part it plays in our lives.

This began my passion for jewelry and continued throughout my life. Always the artist, I learned as much as I could through classes, books and experimentation and spent my free time in arts and crafts. I learned how to draw, paint, sew, crochet and work with my hands to complete every artistic project . I planned on studying art in college but later decided to complete my degree in marketing instead. My business experience was gained at two Fortune 500 companies as an Account Executive, Sales Manager and Sales Training and Development Manager. This experience was invaluable to me in marketing and managing my business. To learn the technical skills of jewelry design, I studied metals for three years at Lill Street Gallery in Chicago. There I learned soldering, wire manipulation, casting and fabricating metal designs. Shortly after that, in 1995 I started Joann Lysiak designs.

It was always my dream to become a fashion designer so I feel fortunate to be able to have my own line. "I love what I do"! It’s been challenging and very rewarding work. It’s been exciting to see my work in several movies - Kissing A Fool, Cookies Fortune, Gingerbread Man, Home Alone 3,- T.V. shows, and magazines but it’s more exciting to see the joy it brings to my customers. It makes my job worthwhile when my customers tell me how much they enjoy wearing my designs and the compliments they receive while wearing them.

My designs are vintage inspired from the 20’s through the 80’s with a fresh look for the current fashion. These "timeless" designs can be enjoyed for many years to come and will be treasured by the wearer. Select semi-precious stones and freshwater pearls are used with oxidized sterling silver in a wire wrapped or strung design. Sterling silver chain, earrings and findings are used in all the designs. Only the highest quality of materials and workmanship are used here. Lots of care goes into the designs and it shows.
